In the XVII century, Captain Jame Cook came to Newfounland for exploration. He made an establishment at Plum Point on the northwest coast of the land. This place is 100 miles south in the strait of Belle-Isle where the Norsemen (Vikings) came 600 years before Capt'n Cook at Anse aux Meadows!
